The Newlands College Music Department strives for excellence and student participation.  The Music Department gives opportunities to Newlands College students to participate and engage in academic music and in several co-curricular groups. If you are a beginner that just loves to sing or play the ukulele or a student that has been playing an instrument for several years we have a group that you can participate in. 

In previous years, we have had groups perform and compete at The Big Sing Cadenza, Regional Big Sing, Rockquest, Chamber Music Competition, WeBO and many other events around Wellington and the motu. All our groups also perform at our two Music Department Concerts, the Winter Wander and Spring Serenade.
