Newlands College operates security cameras throughout the school premises. They record visual footage and this is stored for 120 days before it is erased.  The purpose of the camera system is to provide the school with footage that could be used to support investigation into potential theft from school grounds, property damage or serious pastoral incidents.

Access to the security camera footage is restricted to the Senior Leadership Team, the ICT technician, the Property Manager and the Caretaker. Newlands College reserves the right to share security camera footage with the police.

The outdoor locations of the security cameras and their approximate fields of view are shown in the image below.

Indoor security cameras are located in the following locations:

• A Block corridor
• B Block corridor
• T4
• Public reception
• Student reception
